Important Sizing Info About Michigan
The measurements for Michigan include both peninsulas. Therefore, pairing a 24″ or 36″ size for both Michigan and another state means the lower peninsula will be smaller than the other state. Some buyers want the lower peninsula to be a similar size as the other state, not smaller. In that case, you may want to consider one step size larger for the Michigan (30″ or 45″ respectively) and the lower peninsula will be similar in size as the other state.

- Handmade to order with rustic reclaimed wood from pallets.
- Ready to hang out of the box with felt pads on the back to protect your wall and keep them evenly spaced.
- The stain seals the wood, and the “natural variation” gets a clear coat sealant which enhances the natural color of the boards.
- From being a pallet to shipping your state wood sign, there are 16 steps in the handmade process. Careful attention to quality and appearance is given to every sign. Each board is cleaned, cut, sanded, assembled, and stained, by hand. Each board is approximately 3/4″ thick once attached to the back board, and may vary around 1/16″. Saw marks, nail holes, grain, knots, colors and shades, will vary.

- European/Western mounts: The hanger on the back will be reinforced to ensure it can handle the added weight.
- Wedding guestbooks or a gift with signatures: The boards will be smooth enough for signing. Sometimes pallet wood can be rough in texture, and that makes it difficult to impossible to sign.
- Side table tops: The backside of the state will be stained/finished as the front side is. The backside of the state signs are usually not stained or finished since they are typically against the wall. The hanger and felt pads on the back will be left off since it won't be hanging.
